An Ideal Getaway for a Yoga break We wanted to offer you something very special. So quite naturally, with the support of the Management Team of the Palm Beach Hotel**** we imagined this new, personalised and exclusive experience, open to beginners and experienced practitioners alike. During these 5 days together, we shall dedicate ourselves to the practice of Iyengar Yoga. We shall approach various aspects of this fascinating practice, recognised throughout the world. We will also get to know its founder, the venerable BKS Iyengar, one of the greatest Yogi Masters of the 20th century. Antonina Rubina, as a certified teacher of Iyengar Yoga, will supervise this course. She has been trained by Faeq Biria, a disciple of BKS Iyengar and founder of the Iyengar Yoga Centre in Paris. You will discover new boundaries, through the richness of this style, which is based on Postural Alignment. Thematic conferences, workshops, vegetarian and vegan meals, relaxation and happiness are also part of the programme. For our 5-day / 4-night Yoga stay, the premises will be entirely privatised . The group of practitioners is limited to 15 people to make sure that you will receive all the individual attention you require. Your program Attention is paid to the alignment of the different parts of the body in space : Study of inverted postures and their benefits Study of back bending postures Study of forward bending postures The organisation of postures in "sequences". The use of supports (straps, bricks, blankets, chairs, ropes…), is an integral part of the “Iyengar process” developed by BKS Iyengar to guide the practitioner. BKS Iyengar developed this method for himself first and used this support. He described his body as “a tool to discover the immensity of the universe of Yoga”. ACTIVITIES - COMPLEMENTARY INFORMATION MORNING PRACTICE: FOCUSING ON THE STANDING POSTURES’ ALIGNMENTEvery morning, from 7:30 to 10:00 am The morning practice will consist of gradually working on body opening techniques. We will work on muscle strengthening exercises and then on a deeper approach of the standing postures and their alignment. We will also dedicate some time to the use of tools specific to the Iyengar method such as bricks, chairs, straps and blankets. We shall always end the morning practice studying and practicing some closing body postures. YOGA WORKSHOPS AND COMPLEMENTARY OUTDOOR ACTIVITIESDay 1 & 3: From 16:30 to 19:00 - Thematic Yoga Workshops Study of inverted postures and their benefits Study of backbending postures Study of forward folding postures Day 2: From 15:30 to 18:30 - Outdoor discovery activity: Hiking Trail: CHEMIN DES CRETES / SENTIER DES DOUANIERS / ILES SANGUINAIRES Duration: 3 hours Level: Easy We have the possibility to start our itinerary from various places: from the site of Parata, the “Bois des Anglais”, the fountain of the Salario, or even from the Hotel Palm Beach. Therefore, depending on the choice of our starting point, we can adapt our hike in terms of duration and in terms of difficulty. Starting from the hotel, it is possible to follow the narrow trail of the Sentier des crêtes up to the Parata peninsula, visit the Genoese tower and then head towards the beach of Capo di Feno walking along the Sentier des Douaniers. From the beach, it is possible to walk back after a short sporting ascent of the Canareccia pass, before going down to the Terre Sacrée beach. Don’t forget to bring a backpack, a swimming costume and a towel. THEMATIC EVENINGS AROUND HERBAL TEAS AND INFUSIONSEvery evening, from 21:30 to 22:30 – A theme evening is organized around herbal teas and infusions Day 1 & 2: Cultural activities : singing, Readings, Philosophy, History, astronomy… Day 3: Film screening and discussion Screening of Stéphane Haskell’s documentary film "Debout" (1h30) Film Theme: At the age of 40, Stéphane Haskell is the victim of a sudden dramatic illness and finds himself paralyzed. Traditional medicine condemns him to disability, but Yoga opens the way to Healing. Discussion with the group. DISCOVER THE MENU We have chosen to offer you menus elaborated with seasonal organic products, mainly from Corsica. In order to guarantee you the freshness of the dishes which we propose to you, we will ask you, at the time of your reservation, to make your choice in the proposed menus. Thus, the producers that we have selected will be able to foresee the right quantity to be taken, and you will participate yourselves in an active way in the step which is ours: to limit the food waste. But we also wish to share her experience as a student, as part of her continuous training, with you. So, Antonina will invite one of her teachers, with whom she has been working for years, to spend a day and an evening with us and to bring a light, an experience and skills to complement her own. This is a way for us to share with you our passion for Iyengar Yoga, welcoming you into our daily life, opening up our network of men and women whom we love, we respect and with whom we share the same values of rigour, commitment, respect and benevolence.
